The Meat and Seafood Category manager willdrives sales, margin and case growth through category product planning and execution of strategic product marketing plans. With thousands of products in our categories, prioritizing product and customer requirements while defining the product vision fuels this role to achieve the strategies. Collaboration with sales will be key, along with strategic sourcing and procurement to deliver on the categories key metrics. It's a broad job, with no two days alike, but you can expect to:ulliDevelop Long Range Strategies for the assigned category to achieve volume and profit targets in support of organizational goals and objectives./liliDevelop and facilitate an annual category plan for the assigned category./liliAnalyze sales reports, market trends, and forecasts, to identify customer segment and category targets./liliAccountable for assigned categories sales and profitability by managing pricing, margin, product mix, packaging, seasonal product opportunities, and product concerns and complaints./liliProvide direction of overall Gordon Food Service Store product lifecycle management from introduction to discontinuance. /liliCreate, monitor, and adjust effective pricing strategies that align with the Gordon Food Service Store pricing strategy and organizational sales and profit goals and objectives./liliDevelop methodology and process to strategically market products to support the category/marketing Annual Operating Plan./liliResponsible for collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to drive and enhance product innovation and development that support consumer trends and result in category growth. /liliDevelop and evolve a core group of image items that differentiate Gordon Food Service Store from the competition in alignment with consumer trends that result in category growth./li/ulDoes this look like you?ulliBachelor degree in Sales, Marketing or related field preferred./lili4+ years of experience in meat/seafood brand, product, or category management, including product life-cycle./liliProficient in Google applications (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.) or their Microsoft equivalents./liliAnalytical skills to assess and interpret data related to industry trends, customers needs, and the category./liliKnowledge of or ability to learn assortment planning, and planning, pricing, and reporting systems./liliFinancial acumen to understand and influence pricing, margin performance, and earnings./liliFresh thinker with ability to inject creativity and imaginative ideas./liliAbility to travel occasionally./li/ul /div /div /divBR/Gordon Food Service is an equal opportunity employer.
