Job Description: Lead Development of In Process Test Standards for Electrical Processing Equipment, focusing on product interface requirements.
Create and maintain common software requirements for In-Process testing into product electrical sub-system designs.
Develop In-Process Test Systems software validation strategy within the GVDP milestone phases
Develop manufacturing/assembly strategies to support Advanced Technology (ATW) and New Technology related to electrical systems
Support and mentor Execution Zone Engineers and Plant Electrical Coordinators for In-Process Test limitations and requirments
Perform in-plant and remote troubleshooting of equipment issues, as required.
Provide ongoing and new program execution support at PPO and applicable Assembly Plants
Develop strategy for In-Process Test System compliance to CyberSecurity and IT requirements
Support and consult build sites for recommended upgrades on existing equipment for CyberSecurity and IT related concerns
Work with Manufacturing Engineering IT team for lab testing In-Process Test Software interface IT requirements
Work with Assembly Verification Group (AVG) team members for integration into common test applications and plant systems
Drive In-Process Test Strategy that reduces Electrical First Time Quality (eFTQ) at End of Line (EOL) Test Locations
Work closely with Strategic Supplier to continuously improve equipment design development, build and validation requirements
Implement continuous improvement ideas generated by plant teams where applicable
Integrate ongoing product changes into In-Process Test Development Software
Support Commodity Manager activities – MPS responses, maintaining cost book, etc.
Required Skills, Abilities and Experiences:
Experience with GM vehicle electrical architectures and/or sub-systems
Knowledge of vehicle serial communication protocols
High level of project management experience
High level of analytical abilities to solve complex problems
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal and team building skills
Ability to translate complex issues into summaries for non-technical people
Excellent abilities/skills with Microsoft Office Applications
Preferred Skills, Abilities and Experiences:
Experience in manufacturing, manufacturing engineering or tooling development
Vehicle assembly process experience
Industrial PC and network experience
PC hardware and software knowledge including cyber security skills
C, C++ Computer Language programming skills
Microsoft Excel Macros and Pivot tables
Windows operating systems (Win 10)
Familiar with MEVS Assembly Verfication Group (AVG) test environments
Knowledge of Plant Floor IT systems
Red X, DFSS or OpEx training
Electrical Process Hardware Tech Lead

- 4 year degree in Electrical related field or equivalent experience in automotive electrical architecture, subsystems and serial communication
Special Notes: (travel, flexible hours, relocation etc.)
- Travel required for supporting plant issues, innovation development etc.
