And we are proud to support our employees volunteer interests, and make it a priority to join together in efforts that give back to our communities.Job DescriptionProject LeadProject and Program Management teams are responsible for the delivery of the outputroduct of the program, which will involve managing a portfolio of projects and programs. Coordinate the teams who are working on the various projects.Description:* Project Lead is responsible for on average, five vehicle builds at any given time, to include: GM Show Cars, Clinic properties, Foam Models, Interior Seating properties, Aero properties, Modeling armatures, Scale models, and all multi-shop mock-ups, etc* Serve as liaison between the Design Center studios, Engineering, Marketing and the Design Fabrication shops in the following capacities:* Organize and plan major prototype build projects with the Design Center Fabrication shops.* Aid in fully understanding the content of the project* Obtain and compile estimated hours from the shops* Develop initial timing schedules and update as needed* Conduct weekly build meetings to review project timing and shortages.* Supervise build progress and address issues as they arise* Conduct casting meetings when applicable* Develop project plans and distribute to the Design Center Fabrication shops.* Develop and address critical parts / materials / info shortages lists.* Track project hours versus original estimate.* Meet all timing, quality and cost requirements* Obtain and document approved work change requests during the build cycle for adjustments to both project hours and timing.* Compile a summary folder at the conclusion of each major project, which captures all critical information.* Coordinate the storage of all molds, extra parts, etc. for all show properties.* Update multiple project lists and major projects timing charts.* Contact and process work to all non-GM fabrication sources such as: design / engineering / clay modeling shops, metal casting foundry, milling sources, electroplaters, etching sources, etc.* Procure all non-stock parts / materials vital for the building of a vehicle.* Coordinate the shipping and receiving of all vehicles and parts to and from outside sources.* Process all build information and supervise progress and quality of all projects working at other GM shops.* Compile information captured through bench marking as well as lessons learned.* Coordinate the prototype requests for Design Center show properties, including clean up and repairs.* Work closely with Show Coordination to assure properties scheduled for any Design shows are cleaned up and "show ready".Additional Job Key Elements:* Lead and adopt team concept, problem solvin
