MEC Inc. Machine Maintenance, 2nd Shift in Vanderbilt, Michigan

Work directly with manufacturing teams to maintain maximum uptime and highest level of mechanical support for production and plant equipment. May be required to train on first shift temporarily before moving to second shift.

  • Perform preventative maintenance activities as directed

  • Make recommendations for machinery improvements and perform projects as assigned

  • Responsible for replacing all machinery guarding, covers, and components when jobs are completed

  • Responsible for using the proper tools for the specific job assigned

  • Responsible for record keeping activities such as signing out spare parts, completing work orders, filling out process change requests or any other documentation as requested

  • Responsible for attending all scheduled meetings, documenting notes or assignments, reporting any project ideas, safety concerns, or work requests to supervisor.

  • Perform diagnostics of machinery, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, programming, mechanical, and repair them to required standards.

  • Must have necessary skills and background with metal stamping and presses, press PMs, troubleshoot & repair presses and press equipement.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Possess troubleshooting skills to repair and maintain electrical, electronic and mechanical components on machines including CNC machining centers, PLC controlled equipment, robotic, and leak test equipment.

Required to change motors, oils, and assorted components. Unload and install machines and other maintenance functions.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATH ABILITY

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole number.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
