Manage people for product development programs or projects involving department or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product or computer-based system through the design process, and into a finished state for external customers. Plan and direct resource schedules as well as project budgets. Monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customer on technical matters. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the product/program/project on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interacts internally and externally with executive management, providing negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area preferred. Eight or more years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.

As we work to modernize the OMCS product offering and integrate it more closely with OCI, we need a strong program management function to ensure the transformation of this 20-year business into a more cloud-native offering while also continually delivering critical day-to-day services for our customers. This role will build a program management office for our managed cloud services and drive program and project delivery across the organization in a coherent and effective manner.
This position is part of the leadership team responsible for the delivery and operation of managed application services built on top of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. As part of our overall customer success organization, it is tightly integrated with our service operations and customer support teams.

Enabling customers to safely and confidently migrate workloads to our cloud is critical to Oracle’s continued growth and success. This role involves working with and influencing multiple teams across Oracle and within OCI to modernize and transform our product offering while also keeping the lights on.
The Program Management Office for Managed Cloud Services is a new team and this role will establish, hire and evolve the PMO to deliver on our key objectives this fiscal year and beyond, including: completing the successful technical refresh of all customers onto OCI; modernizing our implementation and product offering in partnership with product management; establishing a more unified program management philosophy within managed services and coordinating that delivery with OCI standards; and building mechanisms to ensure we are constantly evaluating our strategic objectives to be focused on the most critical work.
Specific responsibilities and experience:
Take on a newly created function to establish program management for a team that has not benefited from this in the past. Define the charter and size of the team to accomplish its strategic objectives.
Ensure the timely execution of critical programs that span the Managed Cloud Services portfolio.
As a member of our Managed Cloud Services leadership team, help nurture a high-performing organization to continue to deliver well and maintain our culture as business demands increase significantly.
Oversee the development and implementation of a data driven systems for scheduling, planning, reporting through dashboards and metrics
Work closely with the sales organization leaders globally and the technical account management team to deliver on key programs for customers on time and without negative impact.
Influence the strategic direction of managed services on OCI as part of the core leadership team.
Develop professional relationships at all levels driving cultural change to align managed services delivery with our cloud delivery principles and values.
Experience running a team responsible for delivering a series of complex, multi-quarter projects in parallel.
Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of a large organization from SVPs to individual engineers, product managers and program managers.
Personal experience having launched a complex program or project with infrastructure and software components
A record of building strong collaborative relationships across organizational boundaries (e.g. into finance, purchasing, supply chain, legal, etc.).
Proven capacity to build and sustain a high-performing team operating at various scales (small, medium and large).
A track record in building the next generation of leaders for your organization.
Personal experience managing and leading teams located across multiple geographies and or cultures.
