Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.
As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.

Oracle s RetailGlobal Business Unit is seeking an experienced Presales Solution Consultantwith proven expertise in retail merchandising solutions.
Understandingthe key business challenges and objectives of our customers and prospects, andhow Oracle Retail Merchandising solutions can help them achieve thoseobjectives.
Maintain abroad knowledge of Retail industry trends, and how Oracle Retail fits in themarket.
Take a leadrole in supporting sales cycles related to the Merchandising solution area,including: Master Data Management, Merchandise Procurement, Omni-ChannelInventory Management, Allocation and Replenishment, Pricing and Promotions, SalesAudit, Invoice Matching and Financials Management, Business Intelligence and Reporting;with touchpoints to Planning & Optimization solutions.
Keyactivities include: answering RFP s, doing discovery with clients, preparingcustomer-specific demos, performing demos on-site at client facilities, doingpost-demo follow-up and any other activities necessary to help close a deal; aswell as attend trade shows (such as NRF) and occasional partner events.
Key partneris the Account Sales Rep; but a solution consultant must develop and maintain abroad network across sales, presales, product strategy, product development,marketing, external partners and other areas.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Minimum of5-7 years of combined experience across the following three areas: sellingRetail Merchandising solutions; using Oracle Retail Merchandising solutions orsimilar; holding key business roles (e.g. buyer, merchandise manager, categorymanager, planner, consultant) at one or more large retailers.
Goodunderstanding of gathering client requirements and aligning them with productcapabilities.
Goodunderstanding of integration concepts (both data and process) to understand howOracle s solutions would fit into a client s heterogeneous environment.
Excellentpresentation and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Excellentselling skills and sales awareness (understanding the difference betweenselling and training)
Must bevery organized, be able to prioritize and multi-task, and work well underpressure.
Must be ableto work well without direct supervision, since this is a remote role reportingto a remote manager.
Must beable to travel on average 50% of the time, within North America. Travel could be 1-2 days long or all week,depending on the circumstances.
