Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Manager for Simulation Based Design (SBD) to work with the platform and technology teams to embed SBD into the product development and lead a global team size of 10 to 50 engineers. This position is located Saint Joseph, MI.
Develop the product category simulation strategy and roadmaps
Develop the new simulation capabilities based on the project requirements
Develop the new simulation techniques and best practices to reduce overall simulation and design cycle time.
Develop system performance models to enable the Platforms to take right architecture decisions
Collaborate with the cross-functional team across the platforms and regions to use more simulations and fewer prototypes and physical testing
Verify, enhance, and optimize the designs using simulations tools
Experience in writing simulation reports, knowledge documents, and A3s to capture knowledge and promote future reuse
Responsible for the performance assessments of the team members
Attract, develop, and retain the key talent
Manage multiple projects while maintaining a strong communication bridge with design, CAD, preprocessing, and lab personnel.
Work with the Platform planners to estimate the required resources
10 - 15% International Travel
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
10+ years simulation experience in a product development company
5+ years managerial experience to include leading people
Master’s Degree or PhD
Experience in using ANSYS, LS-DYNA, Star CCM, Acusolve, Fluent, HyperWorks
Experience in using system modeling tools such as Dymola, Matlab Simulink, ModeFrontier
Experience in Systems engineering and MBSE
Work with diverse global teams
Strong problem-solving skills, organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Experience in building the representative 3D models, evaluating designs, validating with physical testing to drive efficient designs for optimal product performance.
Six Sigma Black Belt
Experience in Project Planning
Experience in delivering the product development projects (Sub-system level)
