We are looking for Senior Staff Accountants to join our Commercial and Multi-family Accounting Team.

Responsibilities include full charge accounting for a portfolio of commercial and/or multi-family properties. Day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and various other reports as required by ownership/management

  • Review and analyze G/L activity

  • Prepare annual budgets and monitor monthly performance against same

  • Analyze actual vs. budget variances and author variance notes

  • Code invoices and review A/P

  • Ensure compliance with property management contracts

  • Maintain building files and review and interpret leases

  • Complete CAM & RET Reconciliations (Commercial only)

  • Prepare year-end workpapers

  • Assist with the acquisition and disposition of assets

  • Work in a team environment and independently

  • Communicate effectively with property and company management team members

  • Special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager, Controller and/or CFO.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related subject

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook and Excel, especially)

  • Three to six (3-6) years of real estate accounting experience and proficiency using Yardi or equivalent program

  • Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and possess excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills, have a strong work ethic and have the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Time management skills are a necessity.

  • Must have the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision to complete accounting duties and tasks successfully.
