Eaton Corporation Product Line Engineering Manager, eMobility in Southfield, Michigan

The Product Line Engineering Manager will be responsible for globally leading the traction inverter product line for Eaton eMobility. In this role, you will build and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team to execute all engineering product life cycle activities for traction inverters. The ultimate objective is to engineer products with high quality, competitive bill of material (BOM) and technology leading innovation.

In This Function You Will

  • Build and manage a global and multidisciplinary engineering team.

  • Oversee the execution of all project life cycle (PLC) engineering activities including (1) pre-acquisition, (2) acquisition/pursuit, (3) application engineering, (4) handoff to production launch, and (5) sustaining engineering.

  • Ensure all engineering processes follow Eaton eMobility standards.

  • Define resources and timing commitments required to execute product line goals. Manage resources and team to achieve goals.

  • Coach and mentor direct and indirect team members to meet commitments.

  • Ensure all products are designed to achieve high quality. Drive engineering discipline in the product line.

  • Manage BOM to achieve best cost and meet commitments.

  • Collaborate with numerous internal stakeholders including program management, operations, sales, product strategy, marketing, quality, supply chain and manufacturing, Eaton Research Labs.

  • Collaborate with numerous external stakeholders including component suppliers, engineering services and OEM.

    Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution required

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in automotive electronics

  • Minimum of 3 years in the eMobility space

  • Minimum of 10 years in engineering product development

  • Willing to travel 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in an engineering discipline

  • 15 years experience in propulsion domain

  • 5 years in the eMobility space

Additional Position Criteria:

  • Experience managing annual engineering budget of >$15M USD.

  • Experience executing customer-committed product development generating >$100M USD in mature year revenue.

  • Experience managing engineering pre-acquisition and acquisition activities with the potential to generate new business awards of >$200M USD in mature year revenue.
