THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SHEET METAL MECHANIC SUPERVISOR ( 191MXS ), Position Description Number D0791000 and is part of the MI 127 Wing, National Guard.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to supervise workers on a day-to-day or project-by-project basis, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders, in accomplishing the work operations of the organizational segment or work shift and to perform associated nonsupervisory work. The occupation and grade level which best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is Sheet Metal Mechanic, WG-3806-10. (1) Planning: Plans and schedules specific work assignments on a daily or project-by-project basis within specified time requirements. (2) Work Direction: Assigns tasks to be performed. (3) Administration: Recommends individuals to fill vacancies or for promotion or reassignment. (4) Performs the nonsupervisory functions of the organizational segment supervised. (5) Implements safety regulatory requirements. (6) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. (7) Performs other duties as assigned.

Military Grades: E6 - E7 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Your Resume must list some experience in each of these areas: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your Resume must show at least [ 36 ] months in each of the following areas: Experience or training in planning, layout, and construction skills to manufacture items and systems with dovetailed seams, set-in-bottom seams, burred-bottom seams, or wired or lock seams. Experience using more complicated shop tools and equipment. Experience in using metals including stainless steel, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb material and alloys. Experience demonstrating the use of more complicated mathematical calculations and complicated measuring instruments. ((Journeyman)) In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
