Testing includes test authorized by the Laboratory Medical Director. The training insures the skills required for proper specimen collection, handling, processing and transporting. The skills required are limited laboratory testing, proper instrument use, performing preventative maintenance and quality control policies under the supervision of the Coordinator/Manager./bb/bbResponsibilities:br/bbDemonstrates excellent customer service. /bbContributes to organization success targets for patient satisfaction and net operating margin. /bbDemonstrates a positive attitude in the workplace showing dependability, cooperation, and desire to produce the most accurate, timely and cost effective results attainable. /bbAssists in the training of new employees under direct control of the Coordinator or Lead. /bbPerforms other related duties as assigned. /bbPerforms all necessary clerical duties including, but not limited to logging into and answering vocera, answering telephones and logging specimens collection. /bbMaintains proper communication with physicians, nursing staff, laboratory personnel, coworkers, Coordinators, Leads and Managers. /bbFollows laboratory procedures for specimen collection and suitability for testing.(Perform waived tests ordered by a physician or authorized personnel using approved methodology.) /bbMaintains records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. /bbAdheres to the laboratory quality control policiesas it pertains to moderate complex testing. /bbDocument all activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed including troubleshooting. /bbCapable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results. /bbImmediately notify the General Supervisor or designated Laboratory Charge Medical Technologist who will correct the problem or immediately notify the Coordinator or Lead. /bbComplies with all Covenant and Laboratory policies, procedures and safety practices. /bbDemonstrate working knowledge of appropriate safety protocol to include universal precautions, GHS safety program, use of personal protective equipment in designated areas, and perform proper hand washing techniques. /bbCollects all specimens by venipuncture and skin puncture technique upon physician order in a timely fashion utilizing proper technique. /bbAssists nursing with blood draws from venous access devices. /bbProperly identifies patients according to the patient identification procedure at all times. /bbInspects
