div divdivspanspanspanbspanspanGENERAL SUMMARY:/span/span/b/span/span/span spanspanspanspanspanUnder the general guidance of the medical director, the nurse practitionerhysician assistant will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with diseases and adverse health conditions following the written guidelines approved by the department. This role participates heavily in the structural heart program including TAVR, Mitral valve insufficiencies, and left atrial appendage closure procedures. This provider will see patients both in the clinic setting and acute care./span/span/span/span/span spanspanspanbspanspanESSENTIAL DUTIES:/span/span/b /span/span/span ollispanspanspanspanspanspanAssesses the physical and psychosocial status of clients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies./span/span/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanspanspanRecognizes deviations from normal in the physical assessment. Works in collaboration with a physician in formulating treatment plans for health problems and follow-up./span/span/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanspanspanWrites prescriptions for medication, blood products based upon laboratory results, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and post-discharge care in accordance with written practice protocols./span/span/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanspanspanDetermines eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials based on findings./span/span/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanspanspanRequests written consultation from physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate and quality patient care./span/span/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanspanspanInterprets and evaluates findings of studies/tests./span/span/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanspanspanRelays appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician./span/span/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanspanspanAdministers therapeutic measures and obtains specimens as prescribed./span/span/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanspanspanEvaluates the quality of care provided and recommends changes for improvement./span/span/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanspanspanInitiates appropriate actions to facilitate the implementation of therapeutic plans that are consistent with the continuing healthcare needs of the client./span/span/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanspanspanDictates follow-up letters to referring physicians with summaries of treatment, response, and plan./span/span/span/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanspanspanspanMaintains provision of preventive health services (e.g. screening, risks assessment, immunizations, PAP
