RN-Maternal/Child L & D - LDRPN Unit 001 - Full-Time, Night - Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital - Rochester,MI
7pm to 7:30 am 36 hours per week. Weekend and Holiday rotation per contract
24 bed unit comprised of 7 Birthing Suites, 8 postpartum/GYN beds, (private/family rooms) 2 ORs, 3 OB triage beds and a 6 bed Special Care Nursery. We have approximately 600 deliveries per year. All staff are trained to care for antepartum, laboring, postpartum, neonates requiring special care, and gynecology patients. We are working towards our Baby Friendly USA designation and practice team training to improve the safety of all our patients. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary team including obstetricians, pediatricians, neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, residents, social worker, lactation consultant, and health unit coordinators. Supports family centered care by encouraging family participation in care. Our 6-bed family-centered special care nursery cares for sick infants greater than 32 weeks gestation who do not require intensive care. Common diagnoses can include R/O sepsis, pneumonia, hyperbilirubinemia, mild prematurity, transient tachypnea of the newborn, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and infant of diabetic mother.

What You Will Do
As an Associate with Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital you will have the opportunity to

Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to all ages of patientsserviced on the unit. This position involves direct patient care and supervision of other health care providers. Useand disclosure of personal health information on a "need to know basis" may be necessary forpurposes of treatment and hospital operations. Perform all other duties and assignments as requested, i.e., special projects and committees.
What You Will Need
Obtain and maintain BLS certification on completion of hospital orientation required.
Certification in neonatal resuscitation or obtain within 6 months required.
Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license at time of hire/transfer date required.
Graduate from an accredit School of Nursing at time of hire/transfer date. BSN preferred.
- Two (2) years experience as an RN in labor and delivery required. Demonstrate knowledge of Growth and Development over life span for neonates and women of child bearing age required. Basic fetal monitoring course within three (3) months (if not already obtained) required. Intermediate fetal monitoring course within one (1) year of hire required. Cardiac Telemetry Class within six (6) months of hire required.
