The Ametek facility in Peck Michigan has an immediate need for a skilled Machinist, to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non metallic parts. Duties: liRead blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts, to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements/li liMeasure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining/li liSelect, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers/li liCalculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut/li liEnter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media/li liStart and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions, or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control media as required/li liVerify conformance of finished work piece to specifications/li liSet up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings and programmed control data/li liFit and assemble parts into a complete assembly/li liVerify dimensions and alignment of assembly/li liInstall machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance/li liOperate welding equipment to cut or weld parts/li liDevelop specifications from general description and draw sketch of part or product to be fabricated/li liConfer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or other to resolve machining or assembly problems/li liAll other duties as required/li /ul Requirements: liHigh school diploma or GED/li liVocational/technical training and/or certifications are beneficial/li liMinimum of 1 year of relevant machining experience/li liGood mathematical skills/li liStrong written and verbal communication skills/li liMust be able to work overtime during the week and on weekends, as needed/li /ul Competitive benefit package, including tuition reimbursement
