Central Michigan University PHYSICIAN ASST/NURSE PRACTITIONER/UHS in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for direct patient care and for other administrative duties as designated by the Dean and his/her designee. The Medical Director provides the overall direction for all patient care activities. FNP or PA duties include, but are not limited to, providing medical services to patients, inclusive of all functions necessary to provide quality medical care, serving as an educational preceptor for the clinical staff including responding to questions/consultations of the staff, following medical protocols, handouts and clinical standards and assisting in expanding the competencies of the clinical staff. Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant educational program. One year of clinical experience. American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certified for FNP's. National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certified for PA's. Existing unrestricted license to practice in Michigan, or able to be licensed in Michigan. Current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or planned attainment of same. Excellent practice history; ability to be insured for liability purposes.
