JOB SUMMARY: Develop media strategies and plans which optimize the impact of the local media spend in company-owned markets, including broadcast, print, digital (search/display/video/social), OOH, etc. Adjust and refine strategies and tools based on the changing media landscape and the needs of each particular market. Lead the strategy and execution of all local media.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Lead strategy development and planning with the Director of Marketing in the development of a multi-media marketing program to create demand and drive traffic and sales for the company network of La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries stores.• Provide strategic insight and recommendations for continually strengthening the Retail marketing media programs. • Maintain awareness of competitive furniture retail media marketing. Track and manage media plan performance. Provide insight on media consumption by core customer and recommend new media alternatives.• Lead the annual media planning process for all Retail markets. Understand promotion strategy to ensure optimal media plan/recommendation.• Develop integrated media plans that include but are not limited to TV, radio, print, search, display, OOH, etc.• Oversee the media buying functions either directly or indirectly (Agency partners) for company-owned retail markets.• Lead the development of media calendars and communications to ensure awareness and understanding among key stakeholders.• Maintain annual media budget that is consistent with defined ad-to-sales for company-owned stores and AOP for local media plans. • Lead media analysis with internal analytical team while working in a “test and learn” environment.• Oversee advertising agency relationship throughout the entire media planning and buying process.• Review proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.• Provide timely “post” analysis of all implemented media to ensure planned media ran as scheduled and is on target with defined metrics.• Create world class retail media strategies and tactics and identify new technology or channels that can be leveraged to improve delivery to media target or enhance efficiency/effectiveness of media spend.. • Assist in the implementation of all planned media, as necessary, to ensure creative and production due dates are met.• Collaborate with broader marketing group, retail team, Agency partners and field teams to develop and execute media plans and programs that increase traffic and sales for company owned stores. SCOPE & IMPACT: The Manager, Retail Media Strategy is responsible for planning and managing placement of local media across approximately 40 DMAs with spend in excess of $45 million. This role works with multiple Agencies and many internal resources. This position is a large contributor to store traffic and sales for company-owned Furniture Galleries retail system.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Requires BA degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising or Communications.• At least 6-8 years of relevant experience in retail marketing or advertising, as well as familiarity with retail programs or promotions.• 1-3 years Supervisory/Leadership experience.• Up to 25% travel.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: • Deep understanding of local media planning and buying.• Strong analytical understanding and capability of developing media plans in a test and learn environment.• Enthusiastic, effective communicator who is self-motivated and motivates others.• Exceptionally organized and a proven manager capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.• Must be PC proficient (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and versed in creative services and production.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage up to two direct reports within the retail marketing organization.
