Amptech Quality Engineer in Manistee, Michigan

h4Summary: This position will be responsible for ensuring that engineering and manufacturing processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials and processes. The QE works within the quality manufacturing engineering teams to ensure the overall quality of a manufactured product and by creating documentation, devising or implementing quality test plans and ensuring that the quality of the product being produced meets the design intent./h4Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.ulliCoordinates with the quality and engineering departments in the development of data collection analysis techniques./liliResponsible for the coordination of customer specific requirements regarding Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) as well as any associated process capability related activities and reports./liliParticipates in Root Cause Analysis including appropriate documentation regarding corrective preventive action related to any product non-conformance. (external/internal)/liliSupports manufacturing by assisting in development implementation of process control characteristics and techniques for maintaining product and process quality levels./liliDetermines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes./liliAnalyze and maintain statistical process control for process improvement, corrective actions and other activities./liliPrepares and maintains records of conformance related to product quality potentially at all levels, such as First Article Inspection and Incoming Quality, In-Process verification of critical characteristics and other important features, part, assembly and process improvement activity through inspection and Statistical Process Control Techniques./liliInitiate and facilitate cross-functional teams in pursuit of problem solving and mistake proofing quality problems including scrap reduction projects./liliPrepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations and developing action plans./liliPotential travel to customer or supplier locations./liliAssist plant activities to achieve quality, productivity and cost reduction goals./li/ulQualifications, Education and/or ExperienceulliBachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical or Quality engineering./lili2 years' experience in Quality Engineering or a related field./liliEquivalent combination of education and experience may be considered./liliAutomotive industry and IATF:16949 experience a plus./liliRoot Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Reporting./liliStrong analytical and critical thinking skills./liliExcellent verbal and written communication skills/liliASQ (American Society for Quality) certification a plus./liliUnderstanding of Automotive Industry standards a plus./liliAbility to communicate at all levels of the organization./li/ulOther Required TrainingulliAll company provided training pertaining to position./liliPotential to expand into internal auditing program./liliPotential to become certified in ASQ programs./liliAdditional possibilities as deemed necessary by the business./li/ul
