Phillips Service Industries, Inc. Biomed Project Manager in Livonia, Michigan

We are looking for a Biomed Project Manager to manage a new bio-med repair project. The duties may include any or all of the following: reverse-engineering of biomedical equipment to support repair, overhaul, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment for hospitals, clinics and laboratories. This position will be responsible for liason with external customers and internal departments, including purchasing, engineering, shipping and receiving and customer service. This position will be responsible for identifying existing products and product lines at medical facilities that require off-premise repair, overhaul, maintenance and calibration. The Biomed Engineer will be responsible for developing the technical work-flow including decontamination, incoming inspection, development of repair and overhaul procedures, bill of materials development, final test procedures, and calibration requirements. This person will be responsible for developing the internal technical expertise in biomedical industry in a company that has broad experience in the industrial, semiconductor, alternative energy and military depot repair industry. This is a new position with the company and requires someone with project management experience, good technical skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Identify product development opportunities to support biomedical equipment in hospitals, laboratories and clinics.

  • Reverse engineer and design of test and repair procedures for biomedical equipment according to OEM specifications.

  • Draw schematics for test systems and prototypes.

  • Research and develop bills of material (BOM) for biomedical equipment.

  • Test electronics units such as test fixtures, prototypes and customer products using standard test equipment and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.

  • Train technicians in repair and test procedures.

  • Programming test fixture components.

  • Document all work performed.

  • Other duties as required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field such as Electronics Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology (EET).

  • Project management certification preferred

  • Completion of a military training program in biomedical equipment and at least 5 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist or Biomedical Equipment Technician, Medical Equipment Repairer.
