By developing product knowledge, problem solving, and technical support, students participating in Tenneco's Clean Air Materials Internship provide invaluable assistance to Tenneco's materials and manufacturing community while mentoring with a current Tenneco leader as well as learning additional hands on skills on the manufacturing floor.MAJOR DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIESAssist full time materials manager in their day to day activities. Depending on area of study, work can include, but is not limited to:ulliImplement forecasting and supply planning process improvements/liliAssist with the supervising and coordination of the activities of all department employees such as analyzing staffing requirements, scheduling personnel, teaching technical processes, ensuring workload and needs of customers are met, identifying and eliminating safety concerns, developing a plan to improve quality and output within the departments, and participating in 5S (Lean) activities/liliResolve freight service, claims, invoicing issues and PO credits/liliForecast future requirements for suppliers/liliDocument new processes/liliAssist with a wide variety of inventory and inventory control functions/liliDefine improvement initiatives/liliAssist in implementing improvements/liliComplete special projects, as required./li/ulRequired Skills:Ability to work independently and in ateam based environment.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonalcommunication skills.Excellent problem solving andanalytical skills.Effective time management skills.Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint andWord.REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Qualifications:Student cur
