Responsibilities

  1. Operate the arts & crafts facility during free time and scheduled activity times. 2. Teach and monitor proper use of equipment. 3. Conduct daily check of equipment and facility for safety, cleanliness, and good repair. 4. Maintain an inventory of supplies during the entire summer camp season. 5. Prepare and have available supplies for cabin groups to use as a rainy day activity. 6. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications

 Training and experience in arts & crafts.  Ability to coordinate an arts & crafts program  Ability to set up demonstration area and program, and to teach skills to staff and campers of all ages.  Desire and ability to work with children outdoors  Ability to relate to one’s peer group  Ability to accept guidance and supervision  Ability to work with others  Ability to assist in teaching an activity  Good character, integrity, and adaptability  Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control  18 years of age or older.  Christian exhibiting the principles of Christian living

Essential Functions Must be able to train staff; observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques; identify and respond to hazards; work with different age and skill levels; plan and conduct activities.
