Michigan Department of Transportation MDOT Transportation Planning Specialist 13 in Lansing, Michigan

divThis specialist position serves as the department-wide expert for the development of the Five-Year Transportation Program (5YTP), which communicates MDOTrsquo;s multi-modal transportation program to the department, State Transportation Commission (STC), state legislature, and the general public. The position leads development of the statewide highway investment strategies for the 5YTP to ensure that the highway capital program is constrained within the departmentrsquo;s available revenue, and coordinates with the offices of Rail, Aeronautics, and Passenger Transportation to incorporate their programs into the document. This position serves as primary content editor for the 5YTP document, incorporating comments from the MDOT director, department executive team (DET), program managers, BTP staff, Office of Communications, and the public. In the senior level capacity, this position populates, oversees, and executes statewide and regional template target transactions on the departmental database and is the trunkline Subject Matter Expert (SME) on this effort. This position serves as a key resource in the development of the MDOT transportation budget, template targets, planning documents, and other reports within the department. This position conducts special analyses to report on complex funding issues.
