h4Job Description/h4div class="jobs-JobDescription"POSITION DESCRIPTION:The Material and Purchasing Adminrsquo;s responsibilities include the support of all Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Control Personnel, department policy and procedure, and meeting customer delivery requirements. The Material and Purchasing Admin coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, component parts, and supplies to the company.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Educationmiddot; High School Diploma or GED EquivalentExperiencemiddot; Minimum of 2 years of customer relations experience.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:middot; IATF-16949 Quality Standardsmiddot; Company Mission Statement, Quality Policy and Core Valuesmiddot; Safety rules, regulations, and emergency proceduresmiddot; Knowledge of purchasing procedures and practices with a commitment to continuous improvementmiddot; Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of management and hourly employeesmiddot; Exceptional time management and organizational skills; Accuracy and attention to detail requiredmiddot; Ability to prioritize work based on short and long-term objectives and define problems, collect data, and establish facts and draw valid conclusionsmiddot; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while being able to make sound decisionsmiddot; Ability to use strategy to strengthen relationships with vendors through proper communicationmiddot; Results oriented with ability to manage change while creating a positive environmentmiddot; Demonstrated desire for continuous improvementmiddot; Demonstrated positive attitudeDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:middot; Ensure on-time delivery of customer ordersmiddot; Optimize personnel, equipment, freight and inventoriesmiddot; Anticipate and resolve problems with short-term and permanent corrective actionmiddot; Ensure maintenance of production control database information (customer files, carriers, containers, inventory, etc.).middot; Manage warehouse cleanliness and organization.middot; Ongoing review of plant pull systems for shipping, finished goods and incoming materials.middot; Maintain order point and order quantity for part numbered items; ensure the reorder of quantities in a timely fashionmiddot; Ascertain most cost effective means to have materials shipped to businessmiddot; Create, distribute and follow up of purchase orders for Inventory, MRO and services as neededmiddot; Monitor delivery schedules, open purchase orders and purchase requisitions to assure that materials are in adequate supply to support operations for programs assignedmiddot; Maintain procurement records and files including items and services, quantity, price, delivery schedule, quality, and timeliness of performancemiddot; Participate in physical inventories as scheduledmiddot; Monitor any price increases receivedmiddot; Monitors and reports progress toward cost targetsmiddot; Recognize and implement Continuous Improvements at the shop floor level; suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crewmiddot; Model and reinforce ValTecrsquo;s Core Values and Culture on the product
