Robert Half International Controller in HOWELL, Michigan
Our Livingston County client is in need of a Controller. The Controller will be responsible for ensuring all month end processes are completed, including bank and account reconciliations, journal entries, and managing the general ledger. The Controller would also be responsible for generating financial statements and ensuring any necessary financial statement and cost analysis is completed.
The ideal Controller must have at least 10 years of accounting and finance experience, as well as 5 years as a controller. In addition, the ideal candidate will have prior experience in a costing environment as well as prior experience overseeing accounts payable and receivable. The ideal candidate will also have strong ERP experiences, such as SAP, QAD, or Oracle, as well as strong Excel experience with pivot tables and V lookups. This is a 3+ month temporary position for the right candidate and that candidate could be considered for hire if their performance is stellar.
Capacity to assess process and internal control weaknesses and identify improvements
Well-versed in office and accounting computer systems
Financial statement preparation experience preferred
Cost accounting experience
General familiarity with general ledger
Well-founded grasp of journal entries
Proven knowledge of account reconciliation
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
10+ years professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance
Good understanding of ERP system is highly valued
Top notch analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills
Experience engaging with teams and providing leadership across finance teams
Proven communication and negotiation skills, ability to establish trusted advisor/consultant relationships, and capability to influence Executives and Business Decision Makers
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field
CPA and/or CMA preferred
