KION Mobile Automation develops mobile robots, robotic fleet controllers and cloud-based fleet management systems for industrial logistics applications. We are a fast growing team with locations in the USA, China, Australia, Belgium and Germany.

You will work closely with our agile teams being involved in for instance backlog-refinement and user-story mapping to ensure that the documentation receives the attention it deserves and stays up-to-date as new products, and features are developed. You will learn to use our products as you document new functionality, provide feedback to the developers on the user-experience, and suggest possible improvements. You will be the main point of contact for any questions on correct use of language in the user-interface. Our wider training, documentation and translation teams will receive the documentation you provide and provide you feedback and suggestions for improvement. You will also interact with the project-execution teams, as they are one of the main consumers of your work.
Responsibilities:
Works with agile teams to identify / research product functions, attributes, capabilities, characteristics, or qualities to create end-user documentation.
Works with agile teams to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support.
Edits and proofreads technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures, sales proposals and specifications.
Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and company specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style.
Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
Coordinate dependencies with other groups and/or documents development efforts
Integrate materials from multiple sources and blend them in to a unified documentation
Experience/Degree Required:
Minimum degree in English, Writing, Professional Writing, Technical Communications, Technical Writing and Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent) preferred
2 - 5 years of Technical Writing experience
Experience / Skills Required:
Ability to convey technical material in a concise and effective manner
Experience visualizing or diagramming systems and processes
Familiarity with plain language guidelines
Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio and Adobe Acrobat
Experience working with Engineers (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, etc…)
Strong technical skills
Abilities to layout and format documents
Strong attention to details, highly organized, computer literate
Impeccable English skills both orally and in writing
A good sense of humor and an ability to have fun!

Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team with little direct supervision

Compliance background with ISO 9001 is an asset
