Medical Technologist Req #: 30106411 Category: Technologists Technicians Facility: Beaumont Hospital GP Department: Lab Grosse Pointe Hospital Schedule: Casual/Contingent Shift: DaysHours: 630a-3p, may vary Job Details:To perform a variety of routine or specialized tests and procedures for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of patients in one or more areas of work, such as Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation/Urinalysis, Blood Bank , Microbiology.Independently performs routine/complex chemical, hematologic, microscopic, morphologic immunologic, and/or microbiologic procedures involving the use of laboratory instruments or manual techniques maintaining appropriate technical and organizational skills within established turn- around times.Responsibility for instrument maintenance, calibration, QC and troubleshooting. Both independently and within team setting. Required:Bachelorof Science degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or arelated science (i.e., Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.) AND successfulgraduation from a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical LaboratoryScience (NAACLS) accredited Medical Technology/Clinical LaboratoryScience program; OR successfulgraduation from a Categorical Technologist program (under the auspicesof a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science(NAACLS) accredited Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Scienceprogram); OR Commensurate laboratory experience as determined bydepartment management, (i.e., successful completion of applicable WBHSchool of Medical Technology lecture courses and WBH clinical laboratorymedical technologist training) to include seeking MLS(ASCP) or MT(AMT)certification within one year of training/hire.Beaumont Health is an equal opportunity employer.
