Weyerhaeuser in Grayling is accepting applications for a Mill Manager. div The Mill Manager will lead the Grayling OSB facility located in Grayling, Michigan. As part of Weyerhaeuser Wood Products, this role reports to the Panels Manufacturing Director. The Mill Manager is responsible for safety, the reliable manufacturing and on-time and in-full delivery of products to customers and ensures that business objectives are met for the site. Other responsibilities include fostering an innovative and engaged culture, leading in a high performance work system, controlling product cost and inventory, and developing future leaders. This is a non-union facility with approximately 150 employeesKey Functions liEngages associates in safely manufacturing oriented strand board (OSB) products that meets customer needs and driving improvement in key business metrics/li liEnsures an injury free culture is created by committed leaders and involved associates, backed by strong safety systems/li liCoaches and leads in the overall manufacturing process/li liReliability, financial, procurement, productivity, environmental and other site stewardship responsibilities are the ultimate responsibility of the Plant Manager/li liEnsures that business and individual goal setting processes such as capital plans, expense budgets, safety strategic plans and performance management plans are developed and executed with excellence/li /ul /div divQualifications Required Skills and Experience liMinimum 8 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with proven record of positive accomplishments in safety, quality, productivity, cost and people development/li liOutstanding teaming and interpersonal skills that: lieffectively engage teams to meet business goals/li liensure successful teaming/networking within Panels, Wood Products and the company as needed/li /ul /li liStrong interest and ability to engage and lead others in a high performance, team based organization/li liStrong business and financial acumen/li liProven record to effectively engage associates in behavior based safety techniques/li liExcellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills/li liStrong planning and organizational skills/li liAble to work flexible hours as needed in a mill environment/li /ul Desired Skills and Experience liBachelor's degree in business, technical (engineering or other) or forestry/wood products discipline OR equivalent experience/li liExperience developing and working in high performance work systems/li liWorking knowledge of Lean and Innovation tools and processes/li /ul /div
