State of Michigan IT Specialist 14 - Risk Compliance Specialist in Dimondale, Michigan

Job Description

This position will function as the Risk Compliance Specialist, responsible for being the risk compliance subject matter expert (SME) in all compliance requirements, contract reviews, incident response support, and contract monitoring. This position provides proactive oversight for enterprise application security architecture, in order to prevent the design and development or contracting of systems that do not meet the security requirements of all applicable security standards. This position will also be responsible for training in these areas to IT staff across the enterprise. The Risk Compliance Specialist will attend technical analysis sessions for development projects and provide an enterprise and agency-wide viewpoint to the system requirements. The Risk Compliance Specialist will also be an expert in the Secure Development Life Cycle (SADLC) to ensure the security standards of the state of Michigan are identified and applied consistently and provide the expertise to other technical resources in the creation of RFPs, contracts, and maintenance of such components or services.

This position must ensure that all applications are properly integrated with COTS packages, Software as a Service, Web Services and other federal, state and local government applications and services, both internal and external to the state of Michigan. The frameworks developed must further ensure the identification of compliance requirements for all integration points based on the interface requirements. The application systems are highly visible and critical applications often containing highly sensitive personal information; having internal and external interfaces with critical systems; and operating under strict statutory guidelines and oversight.

Required Education and Experience

Education and Experience

Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

Experience

*Information Technology Specialist 14 * Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.

Alternate Education and Experience

An associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, mathematics or equivalent; and at least two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.

OR

At least an educational level typically acquired through the completion of high school and at least three years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.
