7 years of experience leading data and engineering organizations, preferably in the capacity of data science and business intelligence
5 years of hands-on, technical experience with data analytics, data science and/or engineering
Master’s degree in mathematics, applied statistics, information technology, or a related field or equivalent experience
Experience speaking in large and high visibility forums; proven experience building relationships and communicating complex topics simply to the organization
Excellent written, verbal and group facilitation skills
Experience leading teams that embrace DevOps & MLOps
Experience managing and ensuring accuracy of numerous, operationalized models in production
Proven ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and demonstrated initiative in taking ownership for all assigned responsibilities, deliverables and results
The Vice President, Data Science & AI is responsible for driving the strategic direction for the use of data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities that optimize and power our mission critical business processes and enable personalized and relevant experiences for our clients. This position leads numerous full-stack data science teams, owning all aspects of delivery from idea to implementation. This VP is responsible for ensuring our machine learning and AI solutions are positively impacting the experience of our clients and are driving disruption in the mortgage and fintech space.
Communicate and embody the culture, vision and overall direction of the team, and ensure that vision and direction is in support of and driving the vision of the broader Rocket Companies
Lead and foster the growth of a large multifunctional team, including data scientists, data analysts, machine learning engineers, data engineers, architects and product owners
Acquire and attract new talent and grow and develop leaders
Lead, guide and evaluate the work of the team while driving business results
Formulate and implement the strategic plan that guides the direction of data science at Rocket Mortgage
Identify how data can be used to drive automation and efficiency, and find ways for data to be used to re-imagine or bypass the current business processes
Ensure the AI produced is ethical and in-line with our company culture
Develop best practices for machine learning and AI
Develop best practices for knowledge and data discovery to deliver impactful data-driven decision support systems
Develop best practices for change management, source control and deployment methodologies for ML and AI solutions
Work with teams to identify data capabilities across the company
