Henry Ford Health System Manager- Research Program- Full time - Infectious Disease in Detroit, Michigan
Managerial responsibilities over the research staff that may also include secretarial support and other staff. This will entail the hiring, evaluations, coaching, disciplinary and termination of personnel.
In collaboration with the Principal Investigator, Supervisor will also interact with Human Resources and Research Administration on personnel related issues for laboratory personnel.
Under minimal supervision, responsible for monitoring the financial status of multiple research grants, sub-contracts, and consultant and service agreements in multiple areas utilizing proper accounting procedures in multiple areas such as basic and clinical research, as well as collaborating with one or more departments/divisions including the responsibility over a major research area.
May be responsible for philanthropic efforts.
Analyze expense reports for the proper allocation of grant funds and expenses, and collaborate with external departments to verify and correct all accounting errors.
Assist the Principal Investigators in the preparation of research grants, with specific responsibility for the preparation of budgets and budget justifications in compliance with internal and external agency guidelines.
Analyze budgets and forecast to identify trends, grant balances and problems that will enhance departmental long-term planning.
Prepare financial reports in compliance with internal and agency guidelines.
Bachelor's degree program.
Master's degree, preferred.
Four to six years of progressively responsible financial experience.
Knowledge of Excel or similar software packages.
Analytical ability with attention to detail.
Good interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
