DIVISION: FinanceDEPARTMENT: Finance/Fiscal DepartmentLOCATION: 5200 Stecker Dearborn, MIREPORTS TO: Budgets/Accounts Receivable SupervisorFLSA STATUS: Exempt/SalaryCLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, RegularAPPROVED DATE: 10/20/2020JOB SUMMARY: The SER Finance team is searching for an engaged and versatile professional with attention to detail for the Budget Specialist position. The role reviews departmentalbudgets, conducts cost-benefit analyses, and develops long- and short-termbudgetsfor the company and subsidiaries as well as individual business lines as assigned. As directed, performs post-audit and other reviews of actual expenditures and/or revenues and general support to the Finance Team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in general accounting and fiscal management in addition to 3 years of experience in government accounting, preferably in the non-profit sector. A Bachelorrsquo;s degree in accounting, business administration or related field is required. A Masterrsquo;s degree is preferred. The wage for the position ranges from $55,000 - $65,000 per year.ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:olliAdheres to the mission of SER Metro-Detroit and Subsidiaries./liliAssist in corporate budget preparation and modifications as required for assigned contracts. Assist with budget development for new proposals./liliMonitors actual versus budgeted expenditure and revenue figures; recommends budget adjustments as necessary./liliPrepare monthly invoices including assembling necessary supporting documentation, generate required reports, troubleshoot and resolve reconciliation problems, and ensure invoices/billings reconcile to the general ledger for assigned contracts./liliWork directly with program managers to assist with forecasting expenditures, managing subcontractors, anticipating budget overruns or shortfalls and prepare budget revision requests as needed./liliRespond to inquiries and requests for information from employees, auditors, funding sources and/or vendors and conducts research as needed. Responsible for all communications related to the contract assigned./liliFunction as a liaison between the fiscal department, the funding sources and the program managers for each contract assigned. Responsible for the management of contracts, contract amendments, budget, budget revisions, invoicing and collection issues and other account manager duties as deemed necessary. Coordinates agency annual audit./liliManage all audits and monitoring of assigned contracts, providing requested supporting documentation, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues to ensure timely completion./liliCoordinates with program staff to ensure expenditure benchmarks are met and that the fiscal and program departments are aligned./liliPerforms other duties as assigned by the supervisor./li/olSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoJOB QUALIFICATIONS: olliGraduation from a four year accredited university or college with a degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.
