The System-Software Engineer will be responsible for various software functions & releases in the Phone as a Key ECUs Subsystem. The Phone as a Key ECUs or Bluetooth Low Energy/Ultra Wideband subsystem is comprised of the central BLE control module (BLEM/BUN) and arrange of BLE/UWB Antennas that collectively are utilized on a global cross-vehicle basis in Ford and Lincoln nameplate vehicles. The primary feature that the BLEM/BUN/BLEAMs/UWB Anchors support is PaaK (Phone As A Key), and some of the additional features include BSP (Back-up starting passcode), and RePA (Remote Park Assist), user Authentication in AV vehicles. The BLEM/BUN communicates with the Antenna via communication protocol such as dedicated LIN or private CAN-FD, communicate with smart phone via BLE/UWB and Via CAN/CAN-FD with other ECUs in the vehicle such as Body Control Module, Telematics Control Module, Sync Control Module, and other feature specific modules.
What you’ll be able to do:
Lead software development for the BLE/UWB module and Antenna modules as led by the full-service supplier to ensure the modules meets all FMC and Bluetooth SIG requirements.
Ensure all feature and functional requirements/specifications are met. work with Spec authors and feature owners to ensure specifications are clear and achievable. Update specifications as needed. Communicate the requirements to the supplier.
understand all the expected BLE USE cases customers may expect and ensure, as applicable, the subsystem design capability to support the use cases identified.
Review supplier's SW development plan, SW Architecture documentation, traceability between software work products/releases and supplier's test plan & test result, etc. Ensure software deliverables align with vehicle program timing and EESE process to ensure supplier software quality launch.
Conduct Software verification and validation during development on bench and vehicle level.
Drive resolution of complex intersystem and intersystem software related issue between BLE module, other modules on CAN, phone Apps and off-board system.
Perform software design review with suppliers, complete quality analysis, ensure software design follows ASPICE, Functional Safety requirements, security cryptographic and other industry standards.
Attend/support commodity PATs, support vehicle Launch (as needed may require some traveling).
Work closely with the broader BLE subsystem team, who as a whole are responsible for hardware, software, and verification of the BLE/UWB subsystem.
Lead troubleshooting issues of defects and bring them to closure.
The minimum requirements we seek:
Bachelor’s degree in computer Engineer, Software Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Computer Science.
5+ years of software experience in design and release of electronic control module for automotive OEM and / or for automotive Electronic Control Manufacturer.
Our preferred requirements:
Master’s degree in computer Engineer, SW Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Computer Science
Preferred to also have experience in automotive connectivity solutions such as Bluetooth, Ultrawide band, Wi-Fi, or Cellular.
Skilled in Netcom requirements, Danlaw testing, EOL testing, Vehicle diagnostics, CAN tools, etc.
SW Architecture experience.
HW Architecture experience.
Wireless communication experience
General understanding of vehicle Cyber Security cryptographic and concept.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Teamcenter VSM, JIRA, and Github experience desired.
Demonstrates positive teamwork ethics and good leadership behaviors
