SCA, a leader in the outpatient surgery industry, strategically partners with health plans, medical groups and health systems across the country to develop and optimize surgical facilities. Accountabilities / Responsibilities

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides nursing care to ensure thesafetyof the patient.

• Directs and assists in carrying outsafe aseptic&steriletechniques and procedures.

• To perform various tasks asanOR circulator.

• Assumesresponsibility that the OR is preparedroomfor the patientandprocedure.

• Assist in transporting patient to O.R.andchecks patient record foraappropriate pre-oppreparationand procedures.

• Verifies that appropriate surgical prep iscompleted.

• CompletesdocumentationforO.R.records,laboratory requisitions,and patient chartincluding medicationsand physician orders.

• Supervises and assists with the proper,safepositioningof the patient.

• Performssponge,needle,andinstrumentcountsand documentationofsame.

• Takes ownership forall surgical specimensproperly.

• Secures emergency equipment and supplies as needed.

• Provides assistance to teammates,surgeons,and anesthesia.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Good communication skillsthatpromotesafepatient care.

Qualifications

Education - Required:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing

• Current licensure in the State as a Registered Nurse

• Must be current in BCLS

• ACLS/PALS certification within six months of hire date (applicable to scope of service)

Education - Preferred:

• Computer literacy

• BSN Degree

Experience:

• Previous work experience in an ambulatory surgery setting or acute hospital operating room of no less than one (1) year.

• Ability to meet deadlines
