McLaren Health Care Patient Care Associate in Bay City, Michigan
Assists nurses with patient careactivities during the pre-procedural, intra and post procedural phases underthe direct supervision of the physician and registered nurse.
Essential Functionsand Responsibilities:
Completes unitassignments during scheduled time period, meeting the criteria designated bythe Nursing Manager/Resource Nurse.
Assists inmaintaining a safe and orderly patient care environment, adhering toestablished policy.
Demonstratescompetency and knowledge in performing specified nursing assistant skills.
Demonstratescompetency in utilization of specified equipment required for patient care.
Responds to realor simulated emergency and disaster situations according to establishedprocedure.
Assumesresponsibility for obtaining current accurate information and expands knowledgebase through utilization of appropriate learning experiences and attendingmandatory yearly inservices.
Demonstratesorganizational skills and appropriately prioritizes assigned workresponsibilities.
Communicateseffectively and reports relevant observations and changes in patient status toresponsible registered nurse and follow through as directed.
Daily WorkTimes: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. VST 5a-11a
Scheduled Budgeted Hours: 80 hours
High schooldiploma or equivalent
Completion of aNurse Assistant Certification Program or equivalent
CPR issued byAmerican Heart Association or Red Cross Certification
Minimum of six(6) months recent experience as a NurseAssistant in an acute care setting preferred.
Completion ofphlebotomy course or equivalent experience preferred.
