Job Overview


Interact with hourly and salary personnel at vehicle assembly plants to resolve issues found during the vehicle to powertrain installation process, and feedback to the Powertrain plants. Utilize problem solving processes to analyze and root cause issues to ensure smooth continuous vehicle production, as it pertains to powertrain systems. Act as the conduit between Vehicle Assembly and Powertrain plants to proactively resolve issues. Work with internal resources to develop robust solutions that improve the overall quality of Stellantis’s powertrain systems and products. Develop and nurture relationships with internal business partners within Stellantis.

  • Primary contact for all Powertrain issues at Assembly facility, prior to pull

  • Assist Assembly and P/T with issue diagnosis of P/T Manufacturing, Engineering and Supplier Quality issues

  • Coordinate RCA activities for P/T related issues at assembly

  • Document all P/T issues, root causes, and drive permanent corrective actions using green belt tools

  • Process and track pulls at assembly

  • Repair procedure coordination at assembly, can do light repair, must follow allowable RPI (certified person)

  • Train 3CPR companies for inspection and/or repair procedures

  • Certify repairs by off-site facilities

  • Communicate P/T quality issues to Assembly when informed by engine (helps transmission as well)

  • Participate in PRI’s for P/T issues when required

  • Launch support for new products and/or product changes at assembly

  • Coordination of any sorting activities at assembly plants and third-party facilities

  • Lead PSO for repair procedures

  • Provide weekly report for all assembly plant alerts and pulls

  • Coordinate the return of parts to powertrain plants including scrap management

  • Coordinate all powertrain PER runs at assembly plants

  • Review and disposition of engines damaged either in transit or ISD

  • Actively participate in engine tear down events and read across findings at assembly plant of responsibility

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field (Engineering, Quality, Statistics)

  • Background which includes hands-on experience with powertrain systems (ie. Engines, transmission, etc.).

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to build partnerships both internally and externally

  • Capable of planning and prioritizing including the ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency and create action plans

  • Experience working in a Powertrain manufacturing facility, or testing facility, or vehicle assembly plant

  • The candidate must be a high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions and leadership presence

  • This person must have unquestioned integrity

  • Experience with and understanding of business processes associated with problem solving

  • Proficient in Microsoft Software, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experienced in process implementation. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Must be self-directed with superior organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

  • Assembly and/or Powertrain plant experience

  • Supervisory experience
