Responsible for the design, development and testing of electrical hardware based on the electrical architecture and the electrical requirements within a project. Develop core and/or application specific electrical requirements for automotive electronics. Develop electrical hardware in compliance with Global Product Engineering Process (GPEP). Verify electrical requirements at component and bench level testing. Support rest of the functional disciplines with all aspects related to electrical hardware. Generate engineering documentation such as specifications, schematics, BOM and engineering verification test reports. Develop and maintain electrical component DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis). Simulate designs to prove that the design will meet the system objectives. Perform Worst Case Circuit Analysis to evaluate components design margin. Oversee board layout insuring proper EMC guidelines are considered. Perform engineering verification testing and confirm the module operates to required specifications. Participate in continuous improvement efforts. Act as the primary interface between electrical development team and internal and external customers for a given project. Support development of Engineering Estimates and Preliminary Designs/BOMs for new business pursuits. Create reports and presentations for customers and management on electrical design status.
