Our work focuses on a large portfolio of cloud-based, data-driven applications that gross over $3.5B annually, and range in size and scale from months to multiple years.About the RoleNote: This role is open to the US and Canada with fully remote or location-based optionsAs a Senior Accessibility Specialist, you will be working to ensure all customers can access and use our products, defining policies and guidelines for Thomson Reuters as well as collaborating with the team to influence WCAG standards, evaluating and providing accessible solutions for web-based and mobile products, educating and promoting the practice of building accessible products, as well as mentoring others in methods and techniques for addressing accessibility barriers.What We Need in Youand#8226;BA/BS in information science, information design, computer science, human-computer interaction (HCI), instructional design, quality assurance, learning technology, assistive technology, related field, or equivalent industry training/experience.and#8226;A full understanding of Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines and specifications. Must be fluent in WCAG 2.1 guidelines, know WAI-ARIA, UAAG, and ATAG specifications.and#8226;Experience improving and remediating accessibility using web-based technology including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.and#8226;Ability to mentor others in methods and techniques for addressing accessibility barriers on web applications and mobile devices and in a variety of forums.and#8226;Experience leading accessibility evaluations and usability testing for accessibility.and#8226;Ability to develop tools/resources to help provide implementation directions and requirements for UX Design and Front End Development teams.and#8226;Experience with assistive technologies and accessibility-related software including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, ZoomText, MAGic, Dragon NaturallySpeaking, or other speech recognition software.and#8226;7+ years working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative development environment with experience in large, complex software or web applications.and#8226;Ability to work collaboratively and productively both with diverse teams and independently.Knowledge and Skillsand#8226;Be an expert in both consulting and conducting comprehensive accessibility testing against the WCAG 2.1 (AA) Success Criteria and the updated Section 508 federal requirements using the following methodologies: visual analysis; screen reader reviews; color sampling; keyboard only; gesture only; and code reviews.and#8226;Experience working within constraints of user-centered design principles and tools.and#8226;Experience with Agile software development practices.and#8226;Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.and#8226;Experience with incorporating accessible features in web applications and/or mobile applications using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.and#8226;Experience and understanding of VPATs / ACR review and creation.and#8226;Knowledge of creating accessible documents and document remediation - examples include PDF, PowerPoint, MS Word, Exceland#8226;General awareness of Section 508, AODA and EN 301 549and#8226;Strong project management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.and#8226;Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.and#8226;Strong presentation skills.and#8226;Can-do attitude.What You Get to Doand#8226;Interact with and provide direction to UX, technology, content, and product d
