divJob DescriptionbrbRole Summary: /bThe bSr. Oil Gas Tax Research Analyst/b is responsible for research, configuration, ongoing maintenance, enhancements and testing to ensure that upstream, midstream, downstream oil and gas sales/use, business occupation, motor fuel and other special indirect tax rates ONESOURCE applications and offerings comply with tax rules and laws in U.S. tax jurisdictions. bMajor Responsibilities / Accountabilities: /bulliRepresent Tax Research Content effectively as an Oil Gas subject matter expertroject point person on projects and initiatives/liliDevelop training materials and provide training/mentoring to Tax Research Content Associates and Analysts/liliResearch, analyze, interpret and document tax laws and regulations in complex and demanding jurisdictions/liliAnticipate and assess the impact of proposed regulatory developments to stay ahead of changes in laws and regulations impacting applications/liliModel and implement support for new tax regimes; implement content changes; complete work within prescribed content deadlines/liliDesign and execute test scenarios to ensure content accuracy, functionality and usability /liliCorrespond with tax authorities on complex and contradictory matters/liliResearch, respond and resolve client issues in partnership with Customer Support/liliContribute to the development of requirements for tax application features and functionality in partnership with Product Management/liliProvide recommendations on complex tax and legal issues; communicate issues in an understandable manner to non-tax professionals/li/ulbKey Relationships: /bulliCustomer support/liliProduct management/liliDevelopment/li/ulbuTechnical /Professional Skills Competencies:/u/bbEssential Skills: /bulliTwo (2) to four (4) years indirect tax experience in the Oil Gas industry/liliMinimum five (5) to seven (7) years indirect tax experience; 2+ years tax calculation and compliance software (e.g. ONESOURCE) experience/liliExperience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders/liliDetail-oriented with an aptitude for analysis and problem solving including ability to interpret, analyze and organize detailed legal material/liliAbility to utilize online research tools (e.g. Checkpoint, Tax Analysts, WestLaw, etc.)/liliAbility to consistently meet rigid and recurring deadlines/liliSuperior written and verbal communication skills, including ability to write white papers on tax and/or technical subjects/liliSuperior organizational skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks/liliIntermediate to advance software skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Access)/liliAbility to work and learn independently with minimal supervision/liliWritten and spoken fluency in English/li/ulbDesired Skills: /bulliExperience working for a public accounting firm or corporate tax department/liliTwo (2) to four (4) years of progressive indirect tax experience with ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Determination (formerly Sabrix Solution) or other transaction tax system/li/ulbEducation/ Certifications: /bulliBachelor's Degree in Tax/Accounting/Finance is required/liliJD, LLM, MBA or CPA/Chartered Tax Adviser preferred/li/ulspanDo you want to be part of a team helping re-invent the w
