Function Overview

Currently, we are seeking Process Engineer to join our Amana Operations team at our Amana, IA facility. In this role, you will be providing Engineering support to facilitate changes for new projects, tooling and equipment modifications, or maintenance requests for the assembly lines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable to maintain Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of Equipment, Tools & Fixtures within the Assembly lines

  • Responsible for developing, updating and implementing process documents (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Process maps, Control plans, Reaction plans) for various equipment or processes

  • Optimize machine parameters to improve quality and delivery

  • Work with Design Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, and Quality Engineers to Analyze field problems, root cause analysis, and develop/implement robust solutions

  • Hands on experience working with equipment to troubleshoot and problem solve issues

  • Work hand in hand with other engineers to improve horizontal expansion of the various improvements

  • Train supervisor, team leads, and operators on equipment and tools required for general assembly of parts

  • Responsible and accountable for delivering Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery Improvement targets

  • Develop and Implement Autonomous Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, and Focused Approach Projects within your technical areas

  • Approve or reject engineering changes

  • Implement engineering changes on the floor

  • Lead standard, major, advanced kaizens

  • Learn and be a trainer on various World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools

  • Develop and implement Capital and expense projects to reduce risk to the business

  • Work with various levels of the organization (Advanced Manufacturing, Central Manufacturing, New Product Launch, Engineering Platform) to implement new technologies at the plant.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • 2+ years’ experience in Manufacturing, Industrial and/or Process engineering

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering Concentrations: Mechanical / Chemical / Welding / Process / Industrial Technology

  • Strong background in World Class Manufacturing (WCM)

  • Project management skills or PMP Certification

  • Proven success with leading equipment/process improvement projects from inception to completion

  • Well developed communication, conflict management, coaching, interpersonal, and team building skills

  • Strong data analytical skills

  • Experience using SAP

  • Proven success driving lean principles and philosophies

  • Proven ability to improve operations within established production systems

  • Proven ability to drive initiatives to support a change in the plant

  • Creative problem-solving techniques and ability to accomplish tasks and objectives

  • Competent on PC and mainframe systems related to responsibilities

  • Understanding factory costs and good financial acumen

  • Robotics experience - Programming or integration

  • Autocad or Creo 3.0 experience
